Nayanthara was born into a Orthodox Syrian Christian family, in Tiruvalla, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala. She did her schooling at various parts of India (Kerala and Tamil Nadu), as her father was an Air Force Official. She joined Balikamadom High School, Thiruvalla for +2, then joined Marthoma college in Thiruvalla for her Bachelor's degree (English Literature).
Nayan Tara who was Diana Mariyam Kurien then was chosen 1st runner up in Best model Kerala 2003 which was conducted by Thrissur Advertising Club. This gave her few opportunities in modelling for adverisements. While at college, she was spotted by director Satyan Anthikkad and cast opposite Jayaram in Mansinakkare.
Afterwards, she co-starred alongside Mohanlal in Naatturajaavu and in Fazil's Vismayathumbathu. She was also cast with Mammootty in Thaskaraveeran (Dubbed into Tamil as Yuvaraj) and Raapakal.

Her next movie Yaaradi Nee Mohini was a stupendous success.
Nayantara is very generous person, who has contributed to several causes. While working with Rajini, who is known for giving away gifts such as chains to people on the sets to celebrate a movie's success or to reward his coworkers, she became intrigued by his kind gestures. Inspired by this, she also started to reward her co-workers in her other movies by giving away gifts such as bicycles.
She is a down to earth and a darling among technicians for the exemplary camaraderie she exhibits with them. During shoots Nayan always stays at the floor, unlike other stars, who shut themselves up in the vanity vans. She contributed INR 5,00,000 (5 lakhs) to TN Chief Minister as relief aid for displaced Sri Lankan Tamils, at a celebrity fast arranged in solidarity with the Tamils of Sri Lanka. Her donation was the heftiest sum given by an actress, this despite the fact that Nayanthara is not a Tamil herself.Nayantara created headlines when publicity posters of her movie Vallavan sprung up around Chennai showing her Vallavan co-star, Silambarasan and her kissing, who she was rumoured as involved with at the time. However, the pair broke up citing differences soon after the film was released. Further controversy was created when rumours leaked out that the plot of Silambarasan's film, Kettavan, was based on the couple's true love story.

Five minutes into Kavalai Vendam, you will get a basic sketch of how the film is going to be. You may even predict how it is going to end. The film has a very used-up storyline but where it scores is through its dialogues and a largely interesting screenplay.
If you get your cast correct and when you maneuver them to the fullest, you are half successful in your attempt. Kavalai Vendam has a bandwagon of star cast like Jiiva, Kajal Aggarwal, Bobby Simha, Sunainaa, RJ Balaji, Mayilsamy, Manthra, Balasaravanan and more. The casting looks perfect, but have all of them been put to use to the fullest? That would be a No. Someone like Bobby Simhaa could have been used better.

Just like his earlier outing Yamirukka Bayamey, director Deekay scores high with some buoyantly clever and amusing comedy sequences. It compensates for the overdramatic sentiment scenes that creep in now and then. There are many comedy scenes that could make you break into laughter. Police station and boat comedy sequences are a few worth mentioning ones. The humor and language justify the U/A certification. The family audience can watch if they can omit a couple of youth moments.
Like RJ Balaji says in the film, Jiiva’s house is the most loved after Sunny Leone. There is always a room for fun but, eventually the logic goes for a toss. The way Jiiva links his situation to co-bedded infants at a hospital is interesting, but that scene looks force fitted and we are not told why Jiiva and Kajal went to the hospital in the first place. Like he has proven before, Jiiva can carry a film on his shoulders. Here again, he does his part beautifully well. He looks perfect for such roles.

The technical team gives an adequate backend support to the film with some great visuals from cinematographer Abinandhan Ramanujam and few soulful songs from Leon James. RJ Balaji scores big time in Kavalai Vendam. It is easily one of his best works. His biggest plus is to infuse dialogues from old films and perfectly blend them with a particular situation without becoming cloying. Balasaravanan uses the limited scope and he does make an impact too.
You eventually get what you expect from a total romantic comedy. The jokes fly fast and sometimes very funny, in the first half. The second half picks up from where it left, but it gets flat towards the end. The last 30 minutes look very hurried and could have been better. It loses shape mainly because it blends its fun elements with not so impactful emotions.

.
Career:
Vikram debuted in the film Meera in 1990. Following its release, the film did not run well in the box office. Vikram still accepted subsequent offers he received and saw his first hit film, Sethu in 1999.
Sethu, which was released in 1999, was Vikram's first blockbuster though he made his debut almost a decade earlier. The film grossed over Rs.50 million at the box office. Vikram's second blockbuster Dhill came in 2001. The film grossed over Rs.100 million at the box office. Vikram's next blockbuster Gemini came the very next year in 2002. It grossed over Rs.200 million at the box office.
Dhool and Saamy both came in 2003 and yet were top grossing films of the year. Also in 2003 was the critically acclaimed Pithamagan which earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor. His successful performance prompted S. Shankar to cast him for his high budgeted Anniyan. Anniyan was also another top-grossing film released in 2005 for which he received a Filmfare Best Tamil Actor Award. Along with Telugu as for all his films, the film was also dubbed in French and Hindi, which made his Bollywood debut.
Vikram later appeared in Majaa which was a comedy flick but did not do well at the box office. Three years later, in 2008, his film Bheema released, also receiving critical acclaim. Then later he worked in the film Kandaswamy which is directed by Susi Ganesan and has been released & did a good business at box office.
In 2010 his movie Ravannan released both in tamil & Hindi which is directed by Manirathnam was failed big at Box Office. Currently he is doing a untitled movie with director Vijay & another movie with Suseendran. He is also in consideration for Manirathnam's next tamil venture which is under pre production. Vikram has been selected as the Youth Envoy for the “UN Habitat” (United Nations Human Settlement Programme).Deiva Thirumagal directed by A. L. Vijay, saw Vikram portray a father with a developmental disability having the mental maturity of a seven-year-old.
To prepare for the role, Vikram visited homes for the mentally challenged such as Vidya Sagar and Vidya Sudha for a month, watching their body language and taking notes. He also communicated with the patients, to pick up the nuances of people with impaired speech. Vikram has since gone on to describe his role as Krishna as the best character he has ever portrayed.
The film which also featured Sara Arjun, Anushka Shetty and Amala Paul in supporting roles, opened to predominantly positive reviews from critics and enjoyed commercial success at the box office. The reviewer from The Deccan Chronicle described that the film was "Vikram’s show all the way" and that "his rendition of a mentally-challenged man trying to cope with the everyday realities of raising a child is a work of art", praising his "fiery, complex performance as one of the more viciously honest depictions of mental illness cinema has seen".
Similarly another critic described that the on-screen chemistry between Vikram and his daughter, played by Sara Arjun, is "magic" and their performances "are sure to leave a lump in your throat".The critic from The Hindu praised the film and Vikram's performance but analysed that "a problem arises only when you stop looking at Krishna as a character, and begin to see him as Vikram, the hero" and that Vikram should have "underplayed a little here and there and it would have worked better".
However Vikram once again completed a sweep of the top acting awards that year, with further recognition at the Vijay and Filmfare Awards.Vikram then featured in Rajapattai alongside Deeksha Seth under the direction of Suseenthiran where he played a henchman trying to get a break in the Tamil film industry.[89] The film opened to mixed reviews from critics in December 2011 and performed below expectations at the box office.
